Dean Apostal's Projects

Dean Apostal sent me these photos of his projects, resulting from some clever kit-bashing. Here are Dean's comments.

I Modified a Great Planes Lear Jet with a leading edge Krueger flap and a "lift dump" spoiler set. Simple drop flaps. Other plane is a DC 9-52 series with Fowler flap. (Two sets of spoilers) Both lift dumpers at altitude or on landing. When spoilers are cleanly configured outboard spoiler moves up and augments roll with aileron . Plane also served as a test bed for a ventral speed-brake like that on a Fokker 100. Plane also has custom made o-ringed wheel brakes. One of them is also a Great Planes kit fitted with logo lights, landing lights, wheel well lights, Ice lights, full interior light, nav lights. strobe. Simple drop flaps and custom wheel brakes.
