I'm available for 3D Design Work, including aircraft.
I no longer do any fabrication, but am available for 3D design work. Before contacting me regarding your project, please have a look at the checklist below, which will make things easier to estimate. I do this work for $40 per hour, and a deposit for 1/2 half the estimated amount would be required for me to start on your project, with the balance due before I deliver it to you.
Basic project checklist:
- What do you have, in terms of documentation? If you have scale (2D) drawings, specs, and photos you trust, then that makes my job easier. If I do the research myself, it costs more.
- What do you want, as an end product? If you want a 3D model, then obviously you will need some kind of 3D software to use that model. If you want (2D) 3-view drawings and cross sections, then that is somewhat easier. If you want an actual RC design, with interior formers and other parts, dimensions of all those parts, cutting templates, and so on, that's quite a job, and will cost more.
- I can currently output files in .dxf, .obj, .lwo, .X3D, .3DM, .FBX, and (native).lxo formats. If you need a machine-ready file, (i.e., a ".STL" file) let me know what format you require, and I can investigate the possibilities.
- How long after we start do you need the end product?
- A time estimate from me at the beginning of a project is just that… an estimate. Be aware that it might take somewhat more or less time, and may not be within my control. So, if you have a tightly-fixed budget and/or timeline, let me know that at the beginning. Depending on the complexity of the project, I might be able to do it for a flat rate, rather than an hourly rate.
